philosophy (jean paul sartre, michel foucault) , poetry (allen ginsberg, t.s. eliot, adrienne rich, sharon olds), fiction (requiem for a dream, the edible woman, comfort woman, the unbearable lightness of being), feminist writings (susan bordo, bell hooks, shulamith firestone), graphic novels and comic strips(persepolis, blankets, pyongyang, dykes to watch out for, boondocks), memoirs, children's picture books.

i really enjoy films by bernardo bertolucci -- so far i've seen 1900, the last emperor, the conformist, last tango in paris. i really miss the kung fu movies that would play on tv every sunday afternoon (they were a staple of my childhood). other movies i like are: dead alive; army of darkness; blackula; ricky oh: the story of ricky; spirited away; frida; the hustler; lawrence of arabia; network; wall.e; judgement at nuremberg; zoolander.

writing is my main craft, albeit infrequently practiced these days. i suppose my main hobby is twiddling my thumbs wondering what i'm going to do with myself.

i am working on acknowledging my alcohol and food addictions and reaching out. this is very new to me, therefore i am quite ambivalent. right now i'm just looking for a safe place to go where i can express my thoughts and hopefully connect with people.
