As a person who has reached step 12 and has never sponsored anyone past that I wondered what happens to sponsorship after that.  Does it become less intense? What happens if you change sponsors in maintainance?  Do you have to go through alll your step work with them again? Just wondered. Cara

Cara -

It' depends on the sponsor. Some want to rework the steps. But then I've found that redoing the steps from your last 4th/5th is not a bad thing. I've done it several times...

hugs,

Dennis

My first sponsor fired me after we went through the steps together-

I believe in retrospect that had more to do with her life circumstances

than her philosophy. As I recall my second sponsor asked key questions

about my stepwork; and sent me on to study traditions. That is what

I try to do w/ my sponsees now. Changing sponsors can be a good thing

as we begin to experience the promises- although it is not  a requirement!

In answer to my own question.  It became obvious that I had another 'issue' to work some steps around so I began again.  This all happened quite organically as my Higher Power led me and has been quite a revelation.  My sponsor has remained a source of support and help in this.
