Balance, Mystery
Posted On 02/10/2010 07:53:52 by Nia

Striving for the middle of the see-saw...

A person standing on the porch of a new day. Having said their prayers

and just read a meditation( about the Shakers) " Hands to work and

Hearts to God"

The beauty and simplicity of their living and productivity...

Yet few Shakers remain today. Something(s) happened-

for all the wonderous efforts that way of life is pretty much

gone. Similarity can be found in Quakers and Amish-

Aweeeesome. I had this whole thing written out and then it went all screwy and got erased.

Anyway, I need everyone's opinion on something.

I've been clean for 3 years (I just celebrated on the 18th of this month). I know that it's suggested that you not date for the first year of your sobriety. For me, that year has come and gone.

What rituals are in place ?

Am I/you growing ? Reading and questioning / reflecting?

Do I share my beliefs ?

A great friend and mentor of mine passed away- I have no particulars

yet... He was a teacher of life, art and a great restorer of people-

He graced our fellowship a long time ago. He came into my life at a time

when he was most needed...so an angel if one can title a human that!

He built me a shelter when I only had a few pennies- and encouraged me

in my writing and painting. His wife and youngest daughter have been

treasures too, I wish they lived a... Read More

cleaning out after new years
Posted On 01/05/2010 08:55:42 by Nia

Just yesterday I came accross another whole box of

journals...I have stored most others in a sideboard

my Mother-in-law gave us.

Someone, in a meditation I was reading- suggested

going through and putting the rest of " Life" in

order...

We do interior inventories- and at least I try and

do 2 semi-annual 'objects & clothes' give aways to

Good-Will.

But what about all t... Read More
