Mark says: " Around eight years ago, when I needed help with an alcohol problem I struggled to find a counsellor that offered only addiction counselling or specialist addictions counselling.

I was living in West London at the time, searching for addiction counsellors or alcohol counselling services but most of the therapists I talked to suggested I just go to AA (Alcoholics Anonymous)".

"I had just come out of a 3-month recovery program and I was looking for alcoholism counselling help, but apart from the local drug and alcohol services and AA, there was little else. I made a promise to myself that in the future I would try to give people, who were searching for help with alcohol or drug problems a chance to connect with trained addiction counsellors. A chance to meet a Counsellor who had been through similar problems. I now help people to get to the root of their addictive cycles and their drug or alcohol problems every day. I'm proud and happy to be doing so!"

Debs says: "My drinking started out as the 'wine o'clock' antidote to the stresses and strains of everyday life. My alcohol use soon got out of hand without me even realising it! I felt hopeless, guilty and full of shame; why couldn't I just drink like 'normal' people? Why couldn't I drink in moderation? Why did I always let myself down and get drunk?

Making the decision to get help was a life-affirming milestone however finding a reasonably priced, flexible and practical addiction recovery programme to help me achieve and maintain sobriety proved an enormous challenge.  I didn't want group treatment through organisations such as Alcoholics Anonymous (AA) or SmartRecovery , I didn't want or need rehab for my early stage alcohol addiction. I just wanted to talk to someone who understood what I was going through and who could give me the tools and support to help me chart my own course to long-lasting sobriety.

Like Mark, I feel passionate about helping others suffering with a drug or alcohol addiction. Sobriety is a truly wonderful gift, the gift that keeps on giving in all sorts of surprising and wonderful ways.

Get in touch, we truly understand and are here to help you".
